At Kayvex, we rigorously test our doors during the manufacturing process, so you can be sure they are of the highest quality.
Our PVCu panel doors come in hundreds of designs, so you can get the perfect look for your home, and they require very little maintenance to keep them looking like new. A simple clean with a damp cloth is all they need. We create our doors with virgin grade material, which helps to prevent them from becoming discoloured over time.
PVCu doors also offer excellent security, and all our doors are fitted with a multi-point locking mechanism made in stainless steel for extra protection.

Should I choose uPVC doors or wood doors?
If you’re looking for the least expensive option for a door, uPVC is usually the cheapest. uPVC tends to be easy to manufacture, while wooden doors take a lot more craftsmanship and time, which means they can be an expensive choice.
Wooden doors are very secure, as long as they have the right lock, and the material is a good insulator from draughts and noise. If you choose uPVC, you should make sure you have a good, up-to-date lock. We fit all our doors with multipoint locks for your peace of mind. uPVC is also good for insulation and noise reduction.
How long will uPVC doors last?
uPVC is a type of plastic, which means doors made in this material tend to last for a long time, often as much as 30 to 40 years. However, not all uPVC is created equally. You should invest in quality uPVC doors such as those made by Kayvex, which tend to last longer than cheaper options.
A well-maintained door will also last a lot longer than one that isn’t well looked after. Be sure to read any instructions for maintenance that come with your door. Generally, all these doors will need is for you to regularly oil the hinges and to wipe away any dirt or grime with a damp cloth
Can uPVC door seals be replaced?
If your uPVC door is letting in draughts, or the rubber strip is coming loose or has fallen off, then it’s time to get a new uPVC door seal.
A new door seal is cheap, and most people can do the replacement themselves. You simply need to buy a seal of the correct size (measure your door before you buy), remove the editing seal, and install the new seal according to instructions. If you want to check whether it is properly fitted, open and close the door a few times and feel around for any draughts.
Is uPVC safe and secure?
uPVC has been designed to be strong and inflexible. It’s a synthetic material that is made from vinyl polymer and chlorine, so there aren’t many materials like it on the market. Not only is it strong enough for a front or back door, but it’s also energy efficient, easy to clean and lasts for decades.
uPVC is perfectly safe to have around your home. The UK has strict safety regulations for all building materials which uPVC has to meet. The only time you should be cautious is when you need to dispose of an old uPVC door. Make sure it is taken to a household recycling centre and never attempt to burn it.
What will a new uPVC door cost?
Prices for uPVC doors can vary, although they tend to be the least expensive exterior doors on the market. Some factors to consider include the size of the door, whether you’ll need side panels, whether you’re opting for double and single glazing, and whether you want to add any additional features.
The price of stable and cottage-style doors will also be higher than a standard single door. If you’d like a price for your uPVC door, simply get in touch with Kayvex and we can give you a no-obligation quote.
Do you get a long guarantee with uPVC doors?
Choose Kayvex to manufacture and install your uPVC doors and you’ll get the benefit of a 10-year guarantee. However, if uPVC doors are well-maintained, they should last much longer than that. Our 10-year guarantee also covers the safety of our doors, so during this period, we expect them to function properly and protect your property.
While a quality uPVC door can last 30 to 40 years, some finishes may slightly reduce the lifespan of your door. For example, woodgrain finishes are slightly less weather-resistant, so may need to be replaced slightly sooner than a plain uPVC door. Kayvex will be happy to tell you more about our guarantees and what they cover.
