Roof Trim & Fascias

  • Roof trim and fascias can give your home a professional finish. At Kayvex, we offer many different styles and colours, allowing you to get the perfect finish and upgrade your home’s exterior.

Roof trim is used to protect your home from moisture, helping you avoid the dreaded damp getting into your property. It also looks neat and professional and is a good way to improve kerb appeal.

Fascias are also important to repel moisture, preventing damp or rot getting into your rafters, which is an expensive issue to fix. They are boards that attach to your roof at the front and back, which gives your roof tiles extra support. Fascias also provide a solid base to fit your gutters to, which are important for damp prevention.

When you buy roof trim or fascias from Kayvex, we make them to measure in our UK-based factory. This ensures you get the best possible finish and that our products protect your home and look good for many years. We offer a range of colours to complement your property. Classic white gives you a clean, sleek finish, or you can choose a darker tone to blend in with your roof tiles. We even have bright colours to make a statement and add character to your home.

Common Questions

What is a fascia?

You may not know its name, but you will have seen Fascias on many homes. It’s a board that runs along the roofline and is visible for the exterior of your home. It looks as if it has been placed there to add an elegant finish, but it also serves an important purpose. The fascia often holds gutters in place while simultaneously protecting the roof and the inside of your home from moisture or damp. This can be extremely expensive to fix, so it’s worth keeping your fascia in tip-top condition.

What does roof trim include?

Roof trim is a catch-all term that includes fascia, soffits, cladding, guttering and downpipes, but in general roof trim just means different types of protection for the edges of your roof. This maintains the internal structure of your roof and avoids damp and moisture from getting in, which could lead to rot and degradation of the roof itself. If you’re not sure whether you have roof trim, or whether you need it replaced, give us a ring today and we’ll be happy to help.

What is the difference between bargeboard, soffit and fascias?

Fascia: This runs along the lower edge of the roof and protects it from damp. It also supports the bottom layer of tiles on one side, making them sturdier, and holds up the guttering on the other side.

Soffit: This runs parallel to the ground and connects the fascia to the wall.

Barge board: This is used on the gable end of a house – this is the pyramid shape at the top of a house with a pitched roof. It is less practical than a fascia but it can be added to give your home a sleek and elegant look.

How long do roof trim and fascias last?

Wooden roof trim and fascia are prone to collecting water and degrading unless regularly maintained, so we recommend PVCu roof trim and fascia, which is virtually maintenance-free and lasts a lot longer than wood. Once we install them, you won’t have to worry about them for years to come.
