Tiled Roof Conservatories
Tiled roofs can give your conservatory the feel of a full extension, without the long building process and high price. A tiled roof can give your conservatory a more contemporary feel and completely change its design.
One of the reasons you might want to opt for a tiled roof is that it can be better for energy efficiency. Tiled roofs can be built with a layer of insulation, meaning that during the hot summer months, they help reflect heat, and during the freezing winters, they keep the warmth inside your home. This means you can enjoy your conservatory year-round.
During the summer, a tiled roof can also give you more shade than glass, while still getting plenty of natural light from the glass walls. If your home is overlooked, then a tiled roof also gives you more privacy than glass, so you can relax in it whenever you want. It transforms a conservatory into a comfortable extension for a living, dining or playroom that has views of your outdoor space.
We install tiled roofs on all types of conservatories. They are tailor made to your conservatory and we can adapt to any shape and size. Create the perfect extension from your gable, Georgian, Victorian or lean-to conservatory and also reduce your energy costs. Our tiled roofs offer superior thermal insulation and will be sure to create the perfect added space to your home without having to replace your whole conservatory with an extension.
If you need more inspiration you can view our range of tiled roofs in our Gallery. We have a range of images from tiled gable or victorian conservatory roofs to tiled lean-to conservatory roofs. You can also visit our showroom in Littlehampton and learn more about the benefits our tiled roofs will provide your home and conservatory.
To ensure your conservatory is in-keeping with the rest of your West Sussex home, we match your roof tiles to those used on your property, so your conservatory looks like part of your home rather than an add-on.

Can you put a proper roof on a conservatory?
Yes! Not only is it possible to put a “proper” roof on your conservatory, it is quick, easy and cost-efficient to do so. The tiled roofs we put on conservatories are lightweight (often the same weight or lighter than a full glass roof) and we can match the tile colour to that of your house so it blends in seamlessly. Tiled roofs are a popular choice for modern conservatories because the increased insulation means it is easier to heat the space in the winter and keep it cool in the summer. If you’re still unsure whether a tiled roof would be good for you, contact us today and we can talk you through the process.
Does a tiled roof make a conservatory more energy efficient?
Adding a tiled roof to your conservatory is an extremely effective way to make your new space as energy efficient as possible. The roof will be insulated, meaning very little heat will escape from it, so you’ll be able to cosy up in there with a hot chocolate throughout the winter. Our double-glazed windows are some of the most insulative on the market, so you don’t have to worry about losing undue heat from the glass walls and windows either. In the summer, the tiled roof will create a warm, shaded area to escape from the worst of the summer heat.
What does the ceiling look like with a tiled conservatory roof?
If you decide to install a tiled roof onto your conservatory, then the roof will look like any other roof in your home! It will be vaulted and plastered, but we can install roof lights as well to give you an easy way to light up the space at night. All of our tiled roofs will have high-performance insulation between the plaster and the ceiling to stop heat escaping in the winter. A tiled roof gives your conservatory a cosy, snug feeling without losing the natural light and excellent view of a traditional conservatory.
Are tiled roof conservatories dark?
They will be darker than a conservatory with a glass roof, but the floor-to-ceiling windows will still let in a fabulous amount of natural light all year round. In fact, as the sun is lower in the winter, you might still get direct sunlight even in the colder months, depending on where your conservatory is situated. If you’re worried about your tiled conservatory feeling a little dark, then we can install roof lighting into the ceiling, so you can easily make it into a bright space, even at night.
