What do Georgian windows look like?
Georgian bars are an iconic window style that you’ll recognise across homes all across Britain. You can identify them easily, as each pane of glass is divided into four or more sections with glazing bars, giving a characteristic period look to the property.
They may be a period style, but we have modernised Georgian bars to make them more practical. We install Georgian leading, where the bars sit between the panes of glass rather than on the outside; this means you can easily clean your windows with a quick wipe. If you prefer the traditional look, however, we also provide external Georgian bars which make it look as if your window is divided into multiple panes of glass.
What grid designs suit decorative glass?
Because Kayvex have their own state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, there are many types of grid styles we can install on your glass, whether it’s for your windows, doors or conservatory. Squares and diamonds remain popular, and give you a classic look, or you can choose a more intricate design with different shapes. Simply contact Kayvex and we can let you know what’s possible.
You can also finish off a grid design with textured or coloured glass, which gives you lots of different style options. Whatever you choose, your windows will still be secure and made to the highest quality.
How do you clean decorated glass?
As we offer so many different types of decorated glass, each one will be cleaned slightly differently. If you want a grid design where the glazing partitions are raised, you may find that dust collects here and you’ll have to wipe them down fairly often.
If you’re looking for a more practical solution that’s easier to clean, you can opt for our internal Georgian bars, which gives you the style of divided panels while only needing a quick wipe to clean.
Our coloured and bevelled glass is the same as our other glass; just give it a spritz of window cleaner and wipe it down with kitchen roll or a clean cloth.

What is bevelled glass?
Bevelled glass is a traditional glass decoration technique where the glass is cut at an angle, allowing patterns to be drawn in the glass. Take a look at our brochure for a more detailed look at what we offer.
Bevelled glass is most commonly used to add a unique, decorative touch to front doors. However, it can also be used on windows, conservatories and much more. Bevelling doesn’t have to be the only effect you choose. It can be used alongside other decorative touches to give you the look you want.
Where can decorative glass be installed?
Decorative glass can be installed in all sorts of places, depending on its purpose. For example, it is often used for additional privacy, so it can be ideal for front doors, bathroom windows or any rooms that are overlooked.
Decorative glass is an excellent way to add interesting features to your home, and at Kayvex, we’d be happy to discuss the different types of decorative glass we can create for you.
